Here is a list of useful and interesting links. Some of the links are to organizations that focus on equine-assisted activities or for horse-related organizations in our area. N.A.R.H.A. - The North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, is a national accrediting organization for therapeutic riding centers, and provides certifications for instructors. Dream Quest is a N.A.R.H.A. member center. Their site contains excellent information on equine-assisted activities.
Federation of Riding for the Disabled International - People all over the world are enjoying the benefits of Therapeutic Riding! The Federation Riding for the Disabled International was founded in 1980 to form worldwide links between countries and centers offering therapeutic riding and driving, and to assist in the development of programs in new areas of the world.
American Hippotherapy Association - The American Hippotherapy Association Inc. (A.H.A. Inc.) is a group of medical professionals and others who are interested in the use of equine movement as a treatment strategy. Though Dream Quest does not provide Hippotherapy, we offer this link to help potential clients determine which services may best meet their needs.
Georgia Equine Rescue League - The Georgia Equine Rescue League has been helping abused, starved, and neglected horses in Georgia since 1993. The G.E.R.L. has it's own Foster and Adoption programs, as well as helping other groups and individuals in the work of ending abuse and neglect of equines.
Chattahoochee Trail Horse Association, Inc. - Formed in 1991, the C.T.H.A. works to establish and maintain horse trails throughout the Chattahoochee National Forest area. The C.T.H.A. emphasizes trail etiquette and safety, horse care, environment sensitivity and relaxed family-oriented events.
Georgia 4-H - The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished, through "hands on" learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.
Horse Time - Another N.A.R.H.A. member center in Covington, Georgia. Horse Time offers Therapeutic Horsemanship, E.F.P., and Hippotherapy.
Personal Ponies Ltd. - A national organization that pairs Shetland ponies with children who have special needs.
Guide Horse Foundation - The Guide Horse Foundation is committed to delivering Guide Horses at no cost to the blind, relying on un-paid volunteers and charitable donations to pay all travel and housing expenses for the blind handler's on-site training.
